Lily Collins, who may have the best pair of eyebrows in Hollywood today, is apparently set to star in the Sam Raimi produced/endorsed remake of The Evil Dead. Bloody Disgusting first broke the news. According to their story, Collins’ character will be similar in vein to Ash, Bruce Campbell’s iconic character from the original trilogy. 

Collins doesn’t necessarily seem like the tough, go into the cellar and fight some monsters in the cellar with a chainsaw hand type, but in a post Rooney Mara as Lisbeth film world, anything is possible! Not to mention, Fede Alvarez along with his co writer Rodo Sayagues and script consultant/punch upper Diablo Cody obviously have an exciting and unusual take on the material. If you really want to nit pick, any horror film about people in a cabin in the woods is a rip off or remake of The Evil Dead. 

The people, I’m not actually sure, if people are upset about this remake or not, but if anybody is, they should take a step back for a moment and took at the situation. It’s a horror film with semi major studio backing that isn’t about people being poked and probed in a basement and it’s not shot entirely in night vision. It’s a real horror film that’s going to get a wide theatrical release.
