Here’s the first look at Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike, starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. It looks as though Warner Bros will release it wide on the same weekend as G.I. Joe: Retaliation, so that will be a pretty big weekend for those who are into Tatum, and a good weekend to read a book if you aren’t much of a Tatum fan.
Ladies (and applicable gents) consider this: you will thus be able to see a stripper movie under the “art house” guise with complete legitimacy!
“Set in the world of male strippers, “Magic Mike” is directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Channing Tatum (“Dear John,” “Step Up”) in a story inspired by his real life. The film follows Mike (Tatum) as he takes a young dancer called The Kid (Pettyfer) under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women, and making easy money.”
